One of the fastest growing areas in sport today
is womens soccer. With the growing emphasis on health and
fitness, the wider appreciation of the social benefits of
team sports and the increasing appeal of 'The Beautiful
Game', clubs are seeing more and more women get involved
in the sport.
This is a worldwide trend and for many years,
Ireland has seen considerable growth in the number
of women getting involved in soccer, from
a grassroots up to international level.

Renmore has seen the development of this trend and have
seen a big increase in women's soccer in
Galway. The club has fielded a successful
womens senior team for some years and is currently
developing the girls juvenile section of the club.
The senior team plays in the First Division
and competed for the top spot throughout
2008 without ultimate success. The club is confident
in the teams ability to compete again in 2009 and looks
forward to a good campaign.
The senior ladies team won the First Division Cup
Final in 2008 (see photos below). They beat
Cois Farraige 5 - 1 in Terryland Park on Wednesday, 8th
October, 2008. This was a great result for the
women's side and the club in general.
Renmore AFC hopes that the women's teams add to their tally
in 2009 and that we see equal success within the juvenile
ranks.
All are welcome to join the senior ladies team or juvenile
team according to age guidelines. Please contact Donal Tarpy
