Why we need you to get involved.

Renmore AFC is a local sports club relying on the investment of time and effort (and a little more, occasionally) of a number of dedicated individuals who work hard to make sure the community of Renmore (and other areas) are able to get the best out of their football.

Renmore AFC tries to provide an environment where all members are able to train; develop their abilities; enhance their fitness levels; and play friendly and competitive games - all in a safe and organised manner.  We strive to help every member make the most out of their time with the club and develop their football skills to the maximum of their ability. We also work on helping members develop other aspects of their abilities - confidence, ability to organise, leadership, planning.

Clearly,  there is an enormous social aspect to the club and we work to help members feel welcome and enjoy and make the most of the social side of club

Renmore AFC requires a huge effort to organise games, training and resources.  While the individuals involved are well-versed in the art of organising a football club and all that this entails, some extra help is always welcome and we would appreciate any time you might have to give.

Examples of the help we need are:

  • Lifts - we always need parents to help us get the kids to games when we play away from Renmore.  Frequently, coaches have to bring 4 or 5 kids each which is not fair on coaches and unsafe for the kids in the event of overloading.  The club now tries not to do this although we are occasionally stuck with 2 or 3 cars going to a game and needing to ferry 15 or 16 kids!
  • Fundraising - either helping us in the planning and execution of events or coming up with our own methods of raising funds for the club. All monies are welcome.
  • Coaching - at the beginning of the season every year,  we always have more teams than coaches and a few coaches take on more than one team. It always comes down to the same names every year doing the lions share of the work. This is unfair to the kids as the coach is flat out preparing 2 or more teams, reducing the time any one team receives,  and it is unfair to the coach as they all have work and families too.  Your time to help out with the kids would be much appreciated.
  • Experience / Training - it may be a case that you have abilities or experience which would help us in other ways e.g. First Aid training, fitness training, physiotherapy, nursing etc

This is a short list of examples but should give you an idea of what we need from you.

What are the benefits and who benefits?

As can be expected,  there are a number of benefits to helping out with the club.

The primary beneficiary of your involvement is your community.  Your involvement will enhance the club and the club exists to help its members.  The members are your neighbours and friends, their kids and friends etc. Your time and effort will be appreciated by all in your locality.

Benefits which our organisers experience include:

  • Great fun
  • Excercise (nothing like 2 hours running on a cold winters morning to get the blood flowing!)
  • Great social scene and a huge number of contacts
  • If your kids are involved,  you get to increase the time you spend with them - they appreciate you taking the time to help with their interests.
  • Travel (nothing exotic, though!)
  • Lots of fresh air.
